AUTOCABLELEADER / CABLESNOLEADER

CABLESNOLEADER shows which cables in the drawing do not have a leader yet and zooms to the one you pick. AUTOCABLELEADER adds the missing leaders for you. A cable leader (MLeader) is the callout that shows the cable type and lengths, for example SCH63: 25m (3x) + 10m (1x). Use the two together to check a drawing and fill the gaps without placing every leader by hand.

Starting

  • Type CABLESNOLEADER for the list, or AUTOCABLELEADER to add all missing leaders at once.
  • Ribbon: tab SCAD Production, panel Cable, buttons CABLESNOLEADER and AUTOCABLELEADER.

How it works

CABLESNOLEADER

  1. Run the command. The window Cables Without Leaders opens and stays open while you work.
  2. The list shows every cable without a leader, with its description and the X, Y position of its start point. At the top you see N cable(s) without a leader. Select one to zoom to its start point. or All cables have leaders.
  3. Click a cable in the list. The view zooms to the start of that cable (a window of 30 m around the start point).
  4. Place the leader yourself if you want, or use the buttons below.

AUTOCABLELEADER

  1. Run the command. There is nothing to select: it handles every cable in model space that has no leader.
  2. For each of those cables a leader is added. The arrow points at the start of the cable and the text sits about 3 m to the side of it, at a right angle to the cable. The leader gets the layer of the cable and uses the current MLeader style.
  3. The command reports N cable leader(s) added. and, if there were any, M skipped (no cable length info).
