CABLEAPPLYDEFAULTS

CABLEAPPLYDEFAULTS applies the default cable lengths to the cables you select. It does what the Default button in the cable selection window (CABLESELECT) does, but without opening that window: the lengths are calculated from the drawn length of each cable and its labels are updated. Use it to reset a few cables, or a whole selection, to the standard lengths quickly.

Starting

• Type CABLEAPPLYDEFAULTS on the command line.
• Ribbon: tab SCAD Production, panel Cable.
• You can select the cables first and then start the command.

How it works

1. Select the cables. If you did not select anything beforehand, the command asks Select cables to apply default lengths to. Objects on locked layers are not selectable.
2. For every selected cable the command recognises the cable type from its layer and colour, calculates the default lengths from the drawn length, and stores them on the cable.
3. The length label of the cable (text, or blocks when Insert blocks instead of text labels is on in CABLESETTINGS) is updated.

Settings

The result follows the settings of the cable type in CABLESETTINGS: the allowed lengths, the slack percentage and the calculation method. A cable type with Measured ticked gets its drawn length as one length.
