CABLESYNCALL

CABLESYNCALL recalculates and refreshes all cables in the drawing in one go. For every cable polyline it works out the cable lengths again from the drawn length, then updates the length labels (text or blocks) and any cable leaders (MLeaders). Use it after you have changed or moved a lot of cables and want every label to match the drawing again.

Starting

  • Type CABLESYNCALL on the command line.
  • Ribbon: tab SCAD Production, panel Cable.

How it works

  1. Run the command. There is nothing to select: it handles every cable in model space.
  2. For each cable the lengths are calculated again from the current polyline length, using the settings of its cable type (allowed lengths, slack and calculation method from CABLESETTINGS).
  3. The length label is updated, or created if the cable does not have one yet. With Insert blocks instead of text labels on in CABLESETTINGS the length blocks are made instead of text.
  4. An existing leader of the cable gets the new text too.
  5. The command ends with N cable(s) updated and synced.

Settings

A polyline counts as a cable when its layer and colour match a cable type in CABLESETTINGS. With the option Match cables by Layer only (ignore Color) only the layer has to match.

Type a command (e.g. COUNTLIST) or a topic.
