GPSXYSETTINGS

GPSXYSETTINGS sets how the CSV lists from GPSXYLIST and GPSXYLISTBYLAYER look: which columns, with or without a header row, which delimiter and how many decimals. At the bottom you see an immediate preview of the output.

Starting

Type GPSXYSETTINGS on the command line. There is no ribbon button for this command.

How it works

  1. The GPS XY Export Settings window opens with the saved settings.
  2. Change the settings. The Output preview area immediately shows what a line in the CSV will look like.
  3. Click Save to keep the settings. Cancel closes the window without saving anything. Restore defaults puts the fields back to the default values; you still need to click Save afterwards to keep them.

The settings apply to GPSXYLIST and GPSXYLISTBYLAYER until you change them again.

Settings

FieldChoicesDefault
Column presetID,X,Y,Z / NAME,EASTING,NORTHING,ELEVATION / X,Y,Z / NAME,E,N,Ele / POINT,NORTHING,EASTING,ELEVATIONID,X,Y,Z
Header rowOn: the column names are written as the first line of the CSVOn
DelimiterComma (,) / Semicolon (;) / TabComma (,)
Decimal places0 up to and including 63

The preset decides the column names and their order. Watch out with the last preset: it has the northing (NORTHING) first and then the easting (EASTING).

What is in the columns?

This comes from the GPSXYLIST and GPSXYLISTBYLAYER commands that use these settings:

  • The name (ID, NAME or POINT) comes from an attribute of the block with the tag NAME, NAAM, NUMBER, NUMMER, POINTNAME, POINTNUMBER or ID (in that order, the first one that is filled in). If no attribute is filled in, the name is the block name plus a sequence number.
  • The X/Y/Z values are the position of the block in metres, measured in the current UCS.
  • The lines are sorted from left to right.

Type a command (e.g. COUNTLIST) or a topic.
