KEYPLAN
KEYPLAN creates a small overview viewport in the upper-left corner of the main viewport on a layout. It shows the whole model from above, with a red rectangle indicating which part the main viewport displays. Useful on detail sheets of a large site or stage, so the reader can see at a glance where they are looking.
Starting
Type KEYPLAN on the command line, or use the button in the ribbon:
- SCAD Draw / View tab, Viewports / Plot panel (
KEYPLAN)
How it works
- Go to the layout that holds the main viewport. If you are still inside a viewport, double-click outside the viewport to return to paperspace.
- Type
KEYPLAN. The command asks no questions and does everything in one go. - The largest viewport on the layout is taken as the main viewport. The overview viewport is placed in its upper-left corner. Its height is a quarter of the main viewport (and at most 35% of the width). It shows the whole drawing in plan view, with a 5% margin all around.
- A red rectangle is drawn in the overview to mark the visible part of the main viewport. The overview viewport is locked automatically.
- The command reports
Key plan created.
