ZOOMTOZONE

ZOOMTOZONE zooms straight to a zone: you type the zone number and the view jumps to the matching zone area. Handy in a drawing with numbered zones, so you do not have to hunt for where zone 12 is.

Starting

Type ZOOMTOZONE on the command line, or use the button in the ribbon:

  • SCAD Production tab, Cable panel (ZOOMTOZONE)

How it works

  1. Start the command. It asks: Zone number:
  2. Type the zone number. It must be a whole number greater than 0.
  3. The command searches model space, on the zone layer, for the zone block whose zone attribute holds this number.
  4. It then looks for the zone polyline that contains that block’s insertion point and zooms to that polyline. You get the message Zoomed to zone N.

If no polyline surrounds the block, the command zooms to the block itself and reports No zone polyline found containing zone N block; zooming to block extents. If the zone number does not exist, you get Zone N not found on layer '407-Zone_Info'. (showing the name of the configured zone layer).

Settings

The command uses the same zone settings as the rest of SCAD Re-Event. You change them with the ZONESETTINGS command.
