SCUCS2WCS / UCS2WCS
SCUCS2WCS (or UCS2WCS) turns the current UCS into the world coordinate system (WCS). All model space geometry is moved and rotated, so a point that reads (100,50) in the UCS now reads (100,50) in the WCS afterwards. The view goes along with it, so on screen the drawing looks the same. Handy when your drawing was made in a rotated or shifted UCS and you want that direction and origin built into the drawing.
Starting
Type SCUCS2WCS or UCS2WCS on the command line. There is no ribbon button for this command.
How it works
- First set the UCS you want to turn into the WCS.
- Start the command. If the UCS is already World, it reports
The UCS is already World - nothing to bake.and nothing happens. - The command asks
Move all model space geometry so the current UCS becomes the WCS? [Yes/No]. Enter gives the default choiceNo; chooseYesto continue. - All objects in model space are moved, the UCS is set back to World and the view is turned along.
- The command reports
Baked the UCS into the WCS: N entities moved, followed by, M skipped.if there were objects it could not move.
